Kara Carter is senior vice president of strategy and programs at the California Health Care Foundation, where she develops strategies, provides overall guidance, and leads the program teams in the development, execution, and assessment of CHCF’s work. Kara partnered with the leaders and caregivers of one of the nation’s largest academic medical centers, the , to implement and integrate a common operational platform across all clinical institutes, administrative and support divisions, as well as the integration of all of Community Hospitals and Family Health Centers. This work included leading strategic planning and process improvement initiatives and implementing the Business Review process in more than 20 clinical institutes, including cancer, neurology, imaging, medicine, digestive disease, dermatology and plastic surgery, heart and vascular, and respiratory disease. Additionally, Kara has experience with surgery, medical operations, hospital operations, government relations, information technology, and others.
