Porns Top Black Models Vol. 5 – Porn by Elegant Angel

I must admit that, when I first planned to review “Porn’s Top Black Models 2” today, I didn’t actually remember that it was Martin Luther King Day. But once the coincidence dawned on me, I had to follow through.

So let us take a moment, then, not simply to reflect on “Porn’s Top Black Models 2” (which, for the curious, is a very wonderful release), but also to discuss the state of black performers in the modern porn industry.

Which brings us to “Porn’s Top Black Models 2.” As I said above, it’s a great release; simply getting to see L.T. have his way with Bella Moretti, Evanni Solei, Imani Rose, Megan Vaughn, Jasmine Ryder, and Bethany Benz all on one DVD is a wonderful thing. More than that, though, it’s a high quality movie that’s gorgeous to look at, with lush visuals and hot, hardcore action pulsing along for nearly four hours. (If you’ve seen other movies by Elegant Angel, you know what you’re getting here: what they lack in creativity, they more than make up for in sheer hotness.) Save for the title of the film, there’s almost no mention of anyone’s ethnic background, and most certainly no forced black stereotypes: during his interviews, L.T. is vastly more concerned with whether his stars have worked as mainstream models than anything related to their skin color.

Fundamentally, “Porn’s Top Black Models 2” is just like every other Elegant Angel movie, but with a cast entirely made up of black women. Which is wonderful…except to the point where it’s not. Because while it’s awesome to see an ordinary porn movie featuring darker skinned beauties, it’s frustrating that we rarely see this outside of a movie with “black” in the title. If you’ll allow me the analogy, “Porn’s Top Black Models 2” is, in effect, the separate but equal of porn—and I, for one, am wondering when we’ll get our XXX Brown vs. the Board of Education.
