It Happened So Naturally – Tara Tainton

OK, so, having patiently allowed her to punch me in the arm about 5 times, I can now review this masterwork. I was a little worried about this one. It’s an hour-long video, and there’s not a lot of narrative business: a woman talks to her son, matriculating halfway around the world somewhere, on Skype. Some of Tara’s great epics have different scenes and some plotting. Complicated erotic set-ups. This one, however, looked very simple, based on the preview & description. “Too simple, maybe,” I wondered, before watching. Could she sustain viewer involvement, let alone erotic engagement? Would this brave erotic performer fly to close to the sun and lose the wax on her wings? Would she swing for the fences in the bottom of the ninth and miss?
Rhetorical questions, because almost immediately we are reminded of her acting ability, which, let me say at once, has never been better than it is now. Contemplating some of her famous serious epics — “Don’t Tell Your Father”, “It Can Happen So Fast When It’s Your First Time” come immediately to mind — I wonder how she’d play them today. “When It’s Your First Time” was made a little over a year ago, and her improvisational ability and acting talent has only increased. “It Happened So Naturally” is Tara Tainton at her apogee. She has clearly been working on naturalistic acting; we’ve seen it in several recent clips over the past months. Well, that culminates here. The film is almost 60 minutes long, and she does not take one break — not a single fucking cut — until 40 minutes in. Any young actors reading this? Try that. 40 minutes, no breaks. Try that, and see how far you get before you lose the thread, before you dissolve into “wait wait oh shoot” etc. Yeah. She’s that fucking good.
And it’s not just the length of the improvisation, it’s the naturalism that really sinks in. The slow, almost logical, step-by-step inching toward seduction, mainting shyness all the way through the performance. A heartbreaking moment at the 40-minute mark — one wonders if she’ll dissolve in tears or keep going forward.
I’ll spoil nothing else. This video isn’t for yanking your junk before band practice or philosophy class. It’s a beautiful piece that demands active viewer engagement in the fantasy — Tara demands it, she puts you there, in as realistic a scenario, as realistically performed, as you’ll find in erotica anywhere right now.
Sorry this review is so long. But, if any woman deserves compliments for her work, it’s Tara Tainton … whether she fishes for them or not.
